So why a five star rating? I think some underestimate the leverage they have when a company puts them in business. The company is doing all of the physical work plus giving you all of the tools needed to succeed. We have the keys to their warehouse, some huge, and they do all of the work, even offer support. Easy street can’t mean complacency. I still have to put my shoes on.

Nor do you have to try and compete for traffic through free classified ads, hoping that search engines will put you on the first three pages. Of course this is a fine way to approach your business building strategies. But let us think of a ease in strategy that works quite well.
When you start an online retail store business, the first thing you should do is set your prices. Set your prices low enough and competitive enough that your main focus is merchandise movement. Do not price your merchandise to what you think you deserve for an item. Remember you do not do the order processing or the shipping. We want to move our merchandise and let the company do the physical work. And they do.
We may not in most cases be able to control our cost, but we can control our retail prices. Who cares if it is priced to low. Smaller profit allows for movement in merchandise. Our workload never changes, just the company that must do the work. I think that most do not understand this approach and think that letting an item go for a smaller profit is unfair. I say boloney.
Now that your internet retail store prices are set forget the overcrowded internet, at least for now. Use your printer or local copy shop to make you flyers and/or business cards announcing your very low prices along with your web site address. Most copy shops can give you some ideas on writing your text. Then give them to all and everyone. You don’t have to try and sell. This is an invitation to your store. Lay them around where there is public traffic. Your customers are in your own backyard and not always just on the other side of the world. Do this as often as you can to keep your internet retail store in consumer minds.
If you keep your prices low, people will start to remember you as a shopping resource with great deals. Also, having a new web site can be a cool and blissful feeling for a new business owner. That is good but this is not a marriage. Your web site is the key that unlocks a huge warehouse. A link or a tool, is all. Think merchandise movement and not what you think is a fair price. At least not when you have no hands on dealings. Our workload never changes. If I can do this, anyone can. That is why I give the internet retail store a five star rating.
